I am a travel enthusiast who works hard on achieving long-term travel goals and ultimately leading up to living abroad permanently. I studied Management of Tourism at university, which gave me basic knowledge about the tourism industry and lots of opportunities for traveling, including meeting several ‘advanced’ travellers. My first travel experience was in France when I was 19, followed by two summers of Work and Travel programmes in the US. After the end of these programmes I always travelled around the US for a few weeks before returning home. I focused on visiting national parks and various points of interest along the way and trying to capture everything with my amateur photography skills. I have mostly worked in hotels as a Housekeeping Supervisor throughout the UK. I started off in a four star hotel in the north of Scotland, working my way up to a five star hotel on the banks of Loch Lomond and ending up in a four red star hotel in the southeast of England. In the month of August, 2016, I have finished a one and a half year money-grind in order to be able to afford one of my biggest journeys yet, which will be a 15-month long Working Holiday Scheme in New Zealand.
I originally come from Czech republic, so I will write about my country and all the other countries I have visited. You can expect articles about France, the UK, USA and also about my brand new adventures in New Zealand. I also want to incorporate music into my stories, I love listening to music when I hike, so I would like to share this passion with all of you. Lastly, I very much enjoy reading travel books, so I will try to write some reviews from time to time. Some of my favorite authors include Jon Krakauer, Bill Bryson and Jack Kerouac. I don’t spend too much time reading, so this list will probably never get too extensive. I’d be grateful if you’d give my blog a chance. Pop back around again sometime and join me on my adventures!
